How to Get an Illinois Gaming License Approval?

Aug 28, 2019 | Blog Posts, Illinois Gaming License Approval

Once you have decided which type of license you need for your business you can apply to get an Illinois gaming license approval online. An application fee is payable. Alternatively, if your existing business has undergone a change of legal entity you must use the online service to apply for a license. An application fee is payable. Operating license applications take around 16 weeks to process, providing full information is submitted.

If you want a representative to apply on your behalf, your lawyer, for example, will need to complete the whole application on your behalf as the registration and application password will only be sent to the email address provided by the person who registers to complete the application.

Before you make an application for Illinois gaming license approval, you should make sure that you have the documents to submit with your application.  If your business has undergone a change in the legal entity you should make sure that you have the documents to submit with your application. Both operating license-type applications must be made online.

Be Sure to Complete All Necessary Documents

If one or more of these documents are not submitted, the application will be deemed incomplete and will lead to your application being rejected. You can scan and upload certified copies of the supporting documents or send us the originals. So that they can start processing your application as soon as it is received, you should upload all supporting documents and pay the fee online. If you decide to send documents by post or email, you must email or post them on the same day that you submit the application.

Incomplete Documents Get Rejected

If you do not submit your supporting documents online, the state’s board will not start processing your application until they receive them. If they have not received all of the supporting documents within five working days of application, they will reject your application and refund your fee. If you decide to pay the fee via bank transfer, you must make the payment on the same day you submit the application.  Do not make the payment before you submit the application because they will not be able to assign the payment. Do not make the payment after you submit the application because they will reject your application if the fee has not been paid.

You should also make sure that the people connected to the Illinois gaming license approval application who are submitting personal license applications or Annex A personal declarations do so online on the same day as you submit the operating license application. This is because they need to connect these individual applications to the operating license application. If these people send in their personal license applications/Annex A forms before you submit the operating license application, they will not start processing them.
